Today, Delta Holding marked 20 years of its operation with a formal event at the Continental Hotel in Belgrade. The celebration of the anniversary of the largest company in Serbia was attended by senior government officials of Serbia and Republika Srpska, representatives of diplomatic corps, mayors of Belgrade, Ljubljana and Podgorica, leading businesspeople from Serbia and the region, as well as heads of all major media in Serbia.
Representatives of major international companies with which Delta Holding has had a longstanding successful cooperation were greeted as special guests at the event. They included: Generali Group, BMW Group, Honda Motors, Banca Intesa SanPaolo, Bayer, Beiersdorf, Pioneer, Syngenta, Costa Coffee and others.
Speaking at the formal event, Miroslav Mišković, President of Delta Holding, emphasised that a consistent personnel policy, as well as the adoption and application of global technologies were keys to the great success achieved by Delta in the previous two decades.
“In 2011, we are initiating the implementation of new Delta business strategy for the following period. Today, Delta is negotiating a partnership in the field of retail trade with a major partner from Europe, with which Maxi will be even more competitive in all markets in which it operates. Our strategic business in the following period will be agriculture, because we believe that agriculture is Serbian “petroleum”. In addition to agriculture, Delta will invest in real estate business. We may say that today a new Delta is emerging that is changing the significant principles of its previous business.”
President Mišković announced that Delta would continue to represent and cooperate with major international companies in the following period, as well as that it planned even higher investments in corporate social responsibility, which remains one of the basic business principles of Delta Holding.
After 20 years of operation, Delta Holding posted an annual turnover of 2.7 billion euros in 2010 and employs more than 24,000 people.
