Delta Maxi Company opened a hypermarket in Varna, Bulgaria, and thus continued its positioning on the EU market. The hypermarket with the gross area of 5,000 square meters is the 13th facility of Piccadilly and is located in the biggest shopping mall in Bulgaria.
Since takeover of Piccadilly in September 2007 this is the first facility Delta is opening at its own expense and organisation. The plan is to open eight more hypermarkets and supermarkets by the end of 2008 in various towns of Bulgaria.
The hypermarket in the most famous Bulgarian summer resort was opened by the mayor of Varna Kiril Jordanov and Piccadilly’s general manager Aleksandar Camparevic. This gala event was also attended by the president of Delta Holding Miroslav Miškovic.
Delta Maxi is building in Sofia the biggest distribution centre in Bulgaria, which is planned to be finished in April 2009, and is particularly important for Serbian food manufacturers who want to penetrate the Bulgarian market through Piccadilly and Delta.
